The transcatheter aortic valve implantation work continues to be challenging and stimulating. Over the last decade the dominance of transfemoral use has relegated the Transapical approach from 30% of cases to less than 3%. The preferred alternate access approaches are trans axillary, trans-carotid, trans-caval and  transaortic. The valves we are using are primarily Edward’s Sapien 3, Medtronic’s Evolutr and occasionally Boston Scientific’s Symetis or St Judes Portico.
